During an official visit to the Maldives, Saudi Minister of State Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz met with Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The visit coincided with celebrations marking the 61st anniversary of the Maldives’ independence, underscoring the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.
Prince Mansour’s participation in the independence anniversary events highlighted the significant relationship shared by Saudi Arabia and the Maldives. The meeting with President Muizzu served as a key moment in reinforcing the continued partnership and cooperation between the countries.
Upon his arrival at Velana International Airport, Prince Mansour received a warm welcome from several Maldivian officials, including Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel. He was also greeted by Mohamed Naseer, Principal Secretary to the President on Foreign Relations, and Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani.
The meeting and the visit as a whole are seen as important steps in solidifying diplomatic relations and exploring further opportunities for collaboration. Both countries have expressed a commitment to strengthening their ties and fostering mutual interests.
