Addressing an interfaith dialogue in Rome, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has called for intensified global efforts to ensure accountability for acts of violence perpetrated by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. He emphasized the urgent need to halt these attacks, cautioning that the ongoing expansion of settlements and associated violence could jeopardize the viability of a two-state solution.
Prince Faisal praised several countries for implementing measures such as sanctions targeting individuals implicated in severe human rights violations, as well as travel restrictions and import bans on goods from Israeli settlements. He stressed that greater accountability is vital to safeguard Palestinian rights and to facilitate enduring peace in the region.
Reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s stance, the foreign minister expressed firm opposition to any alterations to the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its sacred sites. He highlighted the critical role of diplomatic efforts and international cooperation in advancing a comprehensive peace process.
In his remarks, Prince Faisal underscored the importance of collective international action to address the ongoing conflict and ensure the protection of Palestinian rights.
