Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia Aim to Enhance Collaboration in Tech and Innovation

Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia are setting the stage for enhanced collaboration across several pivotal sectors such as investment, renewable energy, technology, infrastructure, and financial services. This move comes as both regions aim to fortify their economic ties. Recently, business leaders from the two areas convened at an event organized by the Saudi-Hong Kong Business Council in Hong Kong to explore new avenues for cooperation.

The discussions centered around how Hong Kong’s status as a global financial hub can complement Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 development initiative. Adrian Cheng, the Chairman of the Council, highlighted Hong Kong’s potential to serve as a key connector between international investors and business opportunities in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East. Sectors earmarked for priority include financial innovation, artificial intelligence, clean energy, infrastructure development, cultural tourism, family offices, and professional services.

To facilitate these cross-border partnerships, the council is committed to supporting companies with services such as business matching, project promotion, policy guidance, and investment financing. These efforts aim to accelerate the formation of productive collaborations between enterprises from both regions.

At the event, Saleh Khabti underscored the necessity of transforming discussions into tangible projects and investment outcomes. He stressed the importance of focusing on implementation and fostering long-term cooperation to ensure that these initiatives have a lasting impact.
