Saudi Cabinet Highlights Defense Tech in Response to Houthi Aggression

The Saudi Arabian Cabinet has strongly criticized the recent Houthi attacks on civilian and economic locations in cities such as Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, labeling these incidents as acts of aggression. In response, the ministers have reiterated the country’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents against such assaults. Additionally, they have condemned Houthi assaults on commercial vessels and international maritime routes in the Red Sea, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding these critical areas.

In these attacks that have affected multiple Saudi cities, reports indicate that over 70 individuals, including women and children, sustained injuries. In light of this, Saudi authorities have been instructed to ensure that the injured receive the highest level of medical care available. This commitment underscores the government’s dedication to the welfare of its people in times of crisis.

The Cabinet meeting, which was chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, also addressed the situation in the Palestinian territories. The ministers discussed ongoing Arab initiatives aimed at curbing Israeli actions in Jerusalem and preventing the expansion of settlements, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s ongoing engagement in regional stability and support for Palestinian rights.

Further, the Crown Prince provided the Cabinet with insights from his recent discussions with leaders from Egypt, Greece, and Oman, which are part of Saudi Arabia’s broader diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties and collaborate on regional challenges. These discussions highlight the strategic importance of maintaining open lines of communication with neighboring countries.

In a significant diplomatic development, the Cabinet welcomed the establishment of a strategic dialogue between the foreign ministries of Saudi Arabia and Germany. This agreement is designed to enhance consultation and coordination between the two nations, reflecting a shared commitment to addressing global challenges through mutual cooperation and dialogue.
