During a session on Tuesday, the Cabinet emphasized the necessity of reverting conditions in the Strait of Hormuz to those existing before February 28, free from fees or restrictions, and rejected the use of these vital passages for exerting pressure or issuing threats against other nations.
The Cabinet welcomed the United Nations Security Council’s condemnation of increased attacks on Saudi Arabia by the Houthis, highlighting the significance of maintaining regional security. This stance comes amid ongoing tensions in the area, where the strategic waterways are pivotal for global oil transportation and trade.
Beyond maritime concerns, the Saudi Cabinet reiterated its position on the Palestinian issue, condemning actions that affect the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque. It advocated for a lasting peace through the implementation of a two-state solution, calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Furthermore, the Cabinet reviewed Saudi Arabia’s participation in the United Nations General Assembly, emphasizing the kingdom’s dedication to international cooperation and multilateral efforts.
