Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Türkiye Condemn Houthi Attacks on Riyadh Airport

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, and Türkiye have strongly condemned recent Houthi attacks on Saudi airports, including strikes on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that have reportedly resulted in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. The four nations issued a joint statement labeling the attacks as violations of international law and Saudi sovereignty, emphasizing that such actions threaten civilian safety and regional stability.

The statement calls for an immediate and unconditional cessation of the attacks and highlights the countries’ solidarity with Saudi Arabia. The nations expressed support for measures aligned with the United Nations Charter and international law to safeguard the Kingdom’s security, holding the Houthi group accountable for the incidents and their potential repercussions on regional and global peace.

Meanwhile, Kuwait has separately condemned the attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, urging an international response and accountability for those responsible. Kuwait emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s security is closely intertwined with that of Kuwait and the broader Gulf region.

Yemen’s Information Minister, Moammar Al-Eryani, also called for international action, warning that attacks on civilian airports jeopardize aviation safety. He appealed to the United Nations Security Council and relevant international organizations to hold accountable those responsible and their supporters.

The latest condemnations follow an incident at King Khalid International Airport where an unidentified projectile struck a passenger terminal, causing a fire and injuring several individuals. This event occurred just a day after another attack reportedly killed 13 people and injured over 300, raising significant concerns about civilian safety and escalating regional tensions.
