Saudi Arabia plans to invite 197 countries to participate in Expo 2030 Riyadh, which is expected to attract around 42 million visitors from across the world. Talal Al-Marri, CEO of Expo 2030 Riyadh, made the announcement during the 9th Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference in Riyadh, highlighting the event’s scale and global significance.
Al-Marri revealed that the Expo site will cover nearly six million square meters and that construction work on infrastructure will begin before the end of this year. He emphasized that major developments, including Riyadh’s metro network, will connect the Expo site to other parts of the city to ensure seamless mobility for visitors.
He added that several mega-projects — including Diriyah and Qiddiya — will be completed ahead of the Expo. “Expo 2030 will serve as a global platform that fosters human connection and innovation,” Al-Marri said, describing Riyadh as a city undergoing rapid transformation and positioned as an ideal host for the world event.
With its central location, Riyadh is accessible to about half of the world’s population within a five-hour flight, giving it a strategic advantage. Al-Marri stated that Expo 2030 Riyadh will focus on technological transformation, sustainability, and human capital development, offering a “strategic platform for shaping the future.”
